Aviation Calculators
Two calculators that reuse the same airport data behind RunwayFacts' 650 airport profiles (2,258 usable runway ends). They run entirely in your browser; nothing you type is sent anywhere.
EU261 & UK261 Flight Compensation Calculator
Check whether a delayed, cancelled or overbooked flight qualifies for €250–€600 under EU Regulation 261/2004 or £220–£520 under UK261. Distances are great-circle values computed from the coordinates of the airports in the RunwayFacts dataset, and every rule is linked to the article or court ruling it comes from.
Data used: Airport coordinates (great-circle distance, Art 7(4)), airport country (EU / EEA / UK scope).
Open calculator →Runway Crosswind & Headwind Calculator
Enter a wind direction, speed and gust to see the headwind (or tailwind) and crosswind component for every open runway at an airport, sorted from most to least favourable. Includes the formula, a worked example and an explanation of magnetic versus true wind.
Data used: Runway designators and lengths from the OurAirports snapshot (2026-09-01, CC0).

- Distances use the haversine great-circle formula with the same Earth radius as the rest of the site — see Methodology.
- Runway headings come from runway designators (e.g. 27L = 270° magnetic), not from a separate heading field, so they are accurate to about ±5°.
- No new data sources are introduced; nothing on these pages is suitable for flight planning, operational use, or legal advice.
